Instrument Panel
The instrument panel was cut in many places and equipment added thru the years and any one who wanted, just cut a hole and added switches where ever they could reach.
This is what it looked like the day I removed it.
note the hole for the radio, (center top) it is supposed to be 2.5" X 7.25"

![]() all the extra holes, are welded closed and sanded flat.

![]() after re-cleaning smoothing and reshaping to fit the structure.

![]() I found that the instruments that I was keeping, had been drilled
over size to 1/4X28 bolts.
![]() They are supposed to be #6 brass screws.
I am required to manufacture a threaded bushing to shim down from 1/4" to #6 screw.
This is how it was done.
Thread a 1/4 28 Allen headed screw into the existing holes in the instrument.
![]() then saw it off clean on the front, and drilled and tapped to #6 screw.
![]() All instruments are installed for fit and clearance
