LauraJean Krueger and Paul Taylor have done a terrific job as park stewards at Clover Valley. Give them a big Thank You next time you see them at the park!
The chain link fencing project was completed at Clover Valley complete with a separate area for small dogs.
North Whidbey Parks and Recreation purchased poop bags for the Clover Valley off leash park for 2009.
In 1984 the US government donated a ten acre parcel of land to the City of Oak Harbor. Seven acres are dedicated to baseball fields and the remaining area is a FETCH! off-leash park. This park is fully fenced and a popular spot for local dogs. It has some wooded areas off to one side for the dogs that really like to sniff.
How to get there:
This park is next to the Clover Valley Baseball Park located on the northwest corner of the intersection at Oak Harbor and Ault Field Roads. The park entrance is off Ault Field Road west of the baseball park.
From SR 20 go west on Ault Field Road approximately one mile. Turn right into the park just past the intersection with Oak Harbor Road.
FETCH! and North Whidbey Parks and Recreation pooled funds to run a water line and spigot to the Clover Valley park this summer. Now the dogs can have fresh water every day! No more empty jugs blowing in the wind. The park looks better and functions a whole lot better. This project is an example of where your donations to FETCH! go.
The next big project at this popular park is to bring in more soil to improve the surface. See the article in the Daily Wag.
The work party at Clover Valley on March 20 was a great success! Over 20 volunteers showed up to keep the park looking great and make it safe for our furry friends. Volunteers mended perimeter fencing, removed brush and trash, fixed the gate area moved dirt to fill in low spots. trimmed trees, picked up poop, and re-laid pavers in the watering area. A good time was had by all!
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out. It's through your efforts that our parks are so great.
