Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Coupeville's jewelry designer Akemi was first known by unique sculptured jewelry with Japanese clay. Her creative passion took her to work on many other media, and presently, she is working on sterling silver and Precious Metal Clay (PMC) embellishing with semi-precious stones, freshwater pearl, Swarovski Crystals and Baltic amber. Over the years she received many awards and her jewelry is loved and worn by ladies in the United States, Japan as well as many other countries.
