Hinoki (Cypress) and Kaki (Persimmon) wood, circa 1890

This is a remarkable misuya (kitchen tansu) from Kyoto made of Hinoki (cypress) with intricate carvings on the middle sliders. The sliding doors on top are made of kaki (persimmon). It has hand forged copper alloy pulls on the drawers. In very good condition.
