Maxwelton Valley Gardens offers landscape design specializing in plants for difficult gardening conditions, such as dry shade, wet soils, seaside conditions, slopes and banks, etc. Located on Whidbey Island, about 35 miles north of Seattle, five minutes from the Mukilteo-Clinton ferry.
Landscape consultations can be arranged at your property. (Non-Whidbey Island consultations will include travel time and costs, but we'd be glad to come to Hawaii to look over your garden). Bill Halstead is a regionally recognized expert on plants suited for our area, and he will come to your property and advise you on suitable plants depending on your light conditions, soil conditions, exposure to the elements, water availability and your desired effect. His hourly fee is much less than your would expect. Extensive written notes are included. Detailed drawn plans can also be requested. Landscape customers can receive a discount on plants purchased through our nursery for a year following the consultation -- a big savings right there.
