File a Float Plan

Anytime you set off on a boat trip it is essential that someone know that you have gone, where you have gone and for how long. The best way to do that is to file a float plan. You might leave a float plan with a friend or relative; or if you wish, the Oak Harbor Marina would be pleased to keep your plan on file. Float plans enable the Coast Guard to conduct an effective search should that become necessary and make it easier for you to be reached in the event of an emergency.
