2 Boats for sale. On Saturday September 6 a 25-foot sailboat will be sold to the highest bidder at 2 pm. Then, at 2:30 pm a 1965 Chriscraft will be sold.

Marina Advisory Committee. In September the committee will meet at 7 pm on September 8 at the Oak Harbor Yacht Club. Normally these meetings are schedule for the first Monday, but the Labor Day Holiday caused the postponement in September. The October meeting is planned for October 6.

New first aid device to respond to heart attacks. The marina now has an AED (Automatic Electronic Defibrillator).

Boat Trailer Wanted. The North Puget Sound Dragon Boat Club needs a 30-35 foot trailer for their 48-foot paddling boat. The boat weighs about 800 lbs so a rather lightweight trailer will work for a retrofit. The club is a non-profit 501(C) 3 organization thus the donation of a trailer could be tax deductible. If you have one you could donate or part with for a nominal fee please call Mike at 360-240-9966.

New Marina Policy Drafted. Following a city council directive, city staff has written an ordinance proposing a new section of the city code that includes a clear statement of the purposes of the marina.

Fuel Prices. As of August 27 gas is now $4.17 per gallon and diesel is $4.19. As in the past, if you purchase more than 100 gallons at a time there is a 5 cent per gallon discount.

Boat hoist. Additional credit is due. Our new repair beam was designed by Watson Structural Engineering. We are pleased to report that it is fully certified and working well.

Better Water Quality. Cleaner Marina. For liveaboards especially, we have a new form to record your use of the marina's pump out facilities. Thank you for your cooperation.

Marina Improvements. The City Council will soon be considering an engineering contract to prepare construction design documents to construct water, electrical and gangway improvements to the Marina. Also, the engineering contract will include a preliminary design for Marina dredging work to further refine the quantity and exact location of areas to be dredged. It is tentatively planned the improvements to the Marina's electrical, water and gangway could begin next summer and dredging to be scheduled for the summer/fall of 2010.
