November 2018 System Winerization Report
Jim Patton, in preparation for a long-term loss of power, has removed the starting battery from the large (10 kW) emergency generator that we store in a "cabin" next to Brian Hunt’s garage, given it a full charge, and set it on a shelf in our pump house. It is connected to a "maintenance" charger that will keep it ready for service.
In preparation for the first cold weather, Jim turned ON the baseboard heater inside the pump house and set it at its lowest setting.
Jim also plugged the heat tape that protects the pipe coming up from the well into a receptacle in the wellhead enclosure.
