Betty has enjoyed painting for many years. She has explored oils, watercolor, pastel and for the past fifteen years, printmaking; including intaglio, aquatint, wood block, and monotypes. She produces her monotypes by painting with oil based paints and lithography inks on a zinc or plexiglass plate, and then transferring the picture onto paper with an etching press. Her paintings reflect the spontaneity and impressionistic qualities of this art form, as well as her love of bright colors and happy subjects.

It wasn't until after moving to Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest that Betty studied printmaking and started showing her work professionally. Her paintings are collected nationally and internationally and she has won many awards. Her artwork has been produced by two card companies and has been chosen for Christmas cards for Seattle Children's Hospital and as limited edition prints for the Maxwelton Salmon Adventure, and by Starbucks Coffee Co.

Betty's studio and gallery are located at Greenbank Cellars Winery on Whidbey Island.

"I love the color and pattern above all, and hope that people who view my work feel some of the joy I feel while creating it"
